Assertiveness & Conflict

This 7-hour course will cover assertiveness and conflict in the workplace. This course is a complement course to the Municipal Management Program. However, all municipal employees are welcome to participate. The course will cover the following topics.

Assertiveness: is the foundation of all of the other skills. It is about saying what you mean, meaning what you say and not saying it mean. It is about consideration and respect - both for you and for the person that you are interacting with. It is also about saying ‘no’ and doing it without guilt or anxiety.

Conlfict: Being assertive actually lowers the probability of there being conflict. When conflict does occur, you will have the confidence to defuse the situation, respond professional to conflict and seek solutions that work for everyone.
