Stress, Decision Making and Managing Priorities
This 7-hour course will cover Stress, Decision Making And Managing Proirities in the workplace. This course is a complement course to the Municipal Management Program. However, all municipal employees are welcome to participate. The course will cover the following topics.
Stress. With assertion and conflict skills you will discover that there are fewer stressful situations that you have to deal with. You will be able to identify your stressors, and your typical response to stressful situations. As well you will be able to practice different healthy responses that make you more resilient and able to be your best in stressful situations.
Decision Making. As your responsibilities increase so will the requirement to make decision. Some of those decisions will have minimal consequences and others will have impact on you, your colleagues and even members of your community. There are tools and techniques of decision making that you can you and that you can use to influence other decision makers.
Managing Priorities. You can do anything; you can’t do everything. Having too many priorities is as challenging as having no priorities – everything is equally important. Knowing what must be done first and what follows frees you from trying to do everything. There are even some things that don’t need to be done at all, or at least not by you.
